A Touch of Broadway enters 8th season

Tuesday, February 10, 2009
A Touch of Broadway, a group of touring performers from the B.V. Community Theatre at the Roxy in Alta, was formed in the fall of 2001. The original intent of the group was to perform a few shows for private parties during the holiday season.

With over 137 performances and nine different show later, the group is still going strong and is in its eighth season. Presently, TOB has sixteen members and sings songs in musical styles that include country, gentle rock, light opera, patriotic, spirituals, and Broadway show tunes. They have appeared in six different counties in Northwest Iowa, with performance venues in community centers, churches, malls, restaurants, school and private homes. This year's show is entitled: "Aspects of Love: Time for Love." All the musical numbers are centered around the theme of time - days, months, seasons and the different aspects of time addressed in Ecclesiastes 3:1. "To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven..."

Wonderful additions to the group this year are Don Demers and Scott Shevel, providing percussion and bass.

Group members include: Carol Huntzicker, S.L. (director), Glee Crippin, S.L. (musical director), Kevin Anderson, Alta (keyboard), Dan Andrews, S.L., Therese Becker, S.L., Anita Coon, S.L., Randy Ericksen, Alta, Dr. Paul Hill, Alta, Lisa Lindeman, Alta, Terry Parson, S.L., Margo Sievers, Sioux Rapids, Rusty Smith, Sioux Rapids, Dianna Waldstein, Early and Marc Whipkey, Alta.
