SCHALLER - The Schaller-Crestland girls' basketball team remains tied for fourth in the Northwest Conference following their 47-25 win over Aurelia, snapping a four game skid that saw them fall to Newell-Fonda (#2 in 1A) twice, Sioux Central, and Manson NW Webster (#2 in 2A) in an eight day span.
Chelsea Clayton paced the Wildcats with a near triple-double, finishing with 19 points, 12 rebounds, and eight steals. Sydney Shell added 13 points, five steals, and five assists, Molly Sippel added nine pints, and Egypt Clayton totaled six to go with ten rebounds.
The Wildcats' eight-girl roster improved to 8-8 on the season and now sit at 5-6 in the Northwest Conference, tying them with Laurens-Marathon.
Schaller-Crestland wraps up their regular season on the road at St. Mary's Friday and Rockwell City-Lytton Saturday. Their regional opener is also on the road, Thursday February 12th against Alta. The Cyclones won the regular season series, 61-56 and 67-56.
Meghan Glawe led Aurelia Tuesday, finishing with eight points and six rebounds. Erin Laursen added six points, four rebounds, and three assists. Audrey Winterhof finished with five points and five boards.
The Bulldogs (1-15, 1-9 NW Conf.) finish their season by hosting Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn tonight, visiting Newell-Fonda (17-1, 11-0) Friday, and hosting Clay Central-Everly Tuesday (15-3). Tip-offs for all three are set for 6:30PM.
