Twelve Buena Vista University students, along with two advisors, will be traveling in March to Taos, New Mexico for an Alternative Spring Break of Service. This is the tenth year BVU has participated in challenging students to give back through intentional service extended to others. Three other service groups will also be traveling from the university. This specific group will be working alongside students and representatives from university communities throughout the U.S. who are connected with the Collegiate Challenge within the Habitat For Humanity organization. The Taos, NM has developed an 'Adobe Build' unique to the U.S. southwest and will expose students to home construction techniques creating the teamwork necessary to offer hope and a home to one more family.
Integral to reaching their goals, these students have been completing personal and group fund raising in order to purchase supplies and assist in the expense of travel. Your support, as well as the support extended by local business', has been encouraging and is very much appreciated. Please receive this as invitation to attend this year's Omelet Breakfast on Feb. 8 at the Knights of Columbus Hall.
