Flora Marie Moore

April 6, 1921 - Jan. 18, 2009

Flora M. Moore, age 87, of Storm Lake, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009, at Buena Vista Regional Medical Center at Storm Lake.

Services for Mrs. Moore will be held on Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Storm Lake. Interment will be in Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery in Storm Lake.

Flora Marie Eickhoff, the daughter of Charles and Anna (Boettcher) Eickhoff, was born in Grant Township, rural Storm Lake, on April 6, 1921. Flora received her early education at the Zion Lutheran School in rural Storm Lake and completed her education at Storm Lake High School, graduating with the Class of 1939.

She was united in marriage to Harold Witter on June 23, 1940, and this couple was blessed with two daughters: Sandra Kay and Judith Ann. Flora married Raymond H. Moore on Nov. 25, 1957, at Jackson, Minn. Flora and Raymond's married lifetime was spent in Storm Lake, where she was employed with the Buena Vista County Assessor's office for 14 years. Raymond died on Oct. 21, 1981. Flora enjoyed being a homemaker and mom to her family.

Flora was a faithful member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Storm Lake and looked forward to the times she could attend church. Flora enjoyed cats, especially her cat, "Sneakers", and had accumulated a collection of cats over the years. Family was the focal point of Flora's life and she cherished the time she could spend with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Her granddaughters have fond memories of the Christmas dresses she would sew each year for them.

Those who will always celebrate Flora's life include her son-in-law, Ronald Fritz of Storm Lake; her grandchildren: Tami Rae and Don Vos of Estherville; Staci Ann and Mike Jensen of Spencer; Todd Lawrence and Linda Fritz of Sundance, Wyo.; her great-grandchildren: Abby Hoffmeyer, Andrea Vermeys, Bryant Vermeys, Kaylene Vos, Ryan Vos, Jayson Dirks, Megan Dirks, Madison Jensen, and Ashton Fritz; her great-great-grandchildren: Hayden and Avery Hoffmeyer, and Kayden and Keatyn Dirks; her brother, Loren and Lorraine Eickhoff of Grinnell; her sister, Marion Sievers of Storm Lake; a sister-in-law, Esther Eickhoff of Waterloo; other relatives and her many friends.

Flora was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond; her two daughters: Judith in 1958 and Sandra in 2000; and her brother, Leroy Eickhoff.

Flora was looking forward to the day when she could be reunited in heaven with her two daughters. Blessed be the memory of Flora Marie Moore.

Carol M. Dickerson

Dec. 22, 1923 - Jan. 1, 2009

Carol M. Dickerson, 85, of Monroe, Wis. passed away on Jan. 1, 2009 at Meijer Heart Center at Spectrum Health Center Hospital in Grand Rapids, Mich. Carol was born on Dec. 22, 1923 in Oneco Township, Winslow, Ill., the daughter of Leland and Ruth (Bennehoff) Kilian. She was a 1941 graduate of Winslow High School.

She married Harry Sidney Dickerson on March 29, 1947 at the Methodist Church in Polo, Ill. Harry preceded her in death on Sept. 25, 2006. Carol worked for many years as a bookkeeper and secretary. She was a member of the Orangeville United Methodist Church and she enjoyed crocheting, knitting and playing cards.

Surviving are 2 sons: Steven (Deborah) Dickerson of Zanesville, Ohio, Randy (Sue) Dickerson of Charlottesville, Va., 3 Daughters: Debra (Timothy) O'Rourke of Grand Rapids, Mich. LeRuth (Marlin) Sievert of Plover, Wis., Kelli Dickerson of Monroe, Wis. 2 Sisters: Marjorie (Donald) Barker of Orangeville, Ill. and Patricia Miller of Winslow, Ill. Brother-in-law Alvin (Barbara) Goodman of Grays Lake, Ill. 11 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband, 1 Sister Helen Goodman, and an infant brother Keith.

Services were held on Tuesday Jan. 6, 2009 at the Orangeville United Methodist Church.

Pastor James Ketzel officiated and burial took place at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery
