SIOUX RAPIDS - The Sioux Central boy's basketball team built a seven point lead in the first quarter, 19-12, and built on it every quarter thereafter en route to 20-point victory over Newell-Fonda Tuesday night, 66-46.
Four different Rebels reached double figures in the NW Conference matchup as Sioux Central shot 48% (29-61) from the field.
Stuart Goslinga paved the way with a 30-point, 20-rebound effort that saw him make 14 of 24 attempts. Senior guard Trevor Tiefenthaler also had a double-double, scoring 11 points and dishing out ten assists on the night.
Adam Ehlers had a solid all-around effort for the Rebels as he finished with ten points, eight rebounds, six assists, and four steals.
The win moves Sioux Central to 10-1 overall, and they remain tied with Laurens-Marathon atop the Northwest Conference with just one loss. The Rebels are back in action Friday night when they hit the road to face Schaller-Crestland (0-10, 0-7).
Newell-Fonda (3-9, 2-5) looks to bounce back against Laurens-Marathon (8-1, 7-1) at home Friday. Both boys games are set to begin at 8PM.
