SCHALLER - The Alta boys basketball team shut down Schaller-Crestland to the tune of just two first quarter points, and seven first half points, in their 43-25 victory Friday night. The point total is the fewest Alta has given up as well as the fewest the Wildcats have scored all season.
"This was a slow paced game as evident by the score, but we are happy to get the win," said the Cyclones' head coach, Dean Lietz. " We didn't shoot well, but we only had three turnovers. I can't remember a game with that few turnovers."
Alta's Jack Mills led all scorers with 13 on the night. Michael Huseman was the only other player in double figures as he totaled 11.
Austin Stille added four points, six rebounds, three steals, and three blocks.
The Cyclones shot just 33% (16-48) from the field Friday night. They were three of 13 from three point range.
Steven Mason led the Wildcats with nine points followed by Josh Alesch with six.
The Cyclones (5-5, 5-3 in NW Conference) are back on the court Friday night when they host Aurelia.
Schaller-Crestland is at home tonight when they face Ruthven-Ayrshire. TIp-off for both games are set for 8PM
