SIOUX CITY - Jury selection has begun in the trial of a Sioux City man accused of killing his stepdaughters in January 2008.
Larry Harris is accused of killing 8-year-old Aylsha and 10-year-old Kendra Suing. Jury selection began for his trial on Tuesday.
Harris is accused of strangling and stabbing the girls. Harris later told police he had been "casting a spell that had gone bad."
Attorneys for both the prosecution and defense questioned potential jurors Tuesday afternoon.
A total of 12 jurors must be selected for Harris' trial. He's charged with two counts of first degree murder. He is pleading not guilty by reason of insanity.
Jury selection is expected to resume on Wednesday morning in Woodbury County District Court. Officials expect the trial to take two to three weeks.
