Parents/kids learn soccer skills together

Start Smart Soccer, a parent/child program for children ages 3 through kindergarten, will be held at the Storm Lake High School each Saturday in January (Jan. 10, 17, 24, 31) and two Saturdays in February (Feb. 7 and 14.) This Community Education program is a designed to introduce your child to soccer in a non-competitive atmosphere. Parents work one-on-one with their child at the various stations set up each session. This six session program helps to prepare the participants for organized soccer with safe and fun equipment to teach them the motor skills needed to play. This program will be held from 9-9:45 a.m. There is a limited number of parent/child groups.

Jr. Dribblers class gives instruction on basketball

Community Education will be offering Jr. Dribblers for boys and girls in first and second grades. This program will be teaching basic ball handling skills through relays and fun activities.

Jr. Dribblers will be held on three Saturday mornings - Jan. 17, 24 and 31) at the Storm Lake Middle School. The registration fee of $15, which includes a t-shirt, is due on Jan. 15.

Women's volleyball league to begin Jan. 14

Women's Volleyball is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, Jan. 14. Games will be played at the Storm Lake Middle School. If you would like to reserve a spot for your team or if you would like to play on a team, please call Pat Fisher at Community Education 732-5711 by Jan. 7. The league team fee of $85 is due by Jan. 21.
