Student Art Show opens

The Witter Art Gallery opens one of its most popular exhibits this week - the annual Storm Lake High School Scholastic Show: "The Best of 2008."

The show will be open to the public through January 30, with a Reception to be held Friday, January 9 from 5:30-7:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend and meet some of the young artists.

A Gallery Talk will be given at 6 p.m. by Professor Maureen Seamonds.

In this year's Shcolastic Show, 75 students will showcase over 200 works in a variety of mediums.

Featured will be 54 "gold keys" award-winning works in ceramics, printmaking. photography, painings and graphic design. The show is sponsored by Security Trust and Savings Bank.
