Children's Miracle Network benefits BVRMC

Wednesday, December 24, 2008

Donations to the Children's Miracle Network from local businesses and individuals have been used to purchase new technology at Buena Vista Regional Medical Center. Pictured are Maternal-Newborn Nurses Tracy Terry (left) and LuAnn Hott with an AuDX for newborn hearing screening and a Bilibed to assist newborns with jaundice. The AuDX was purchased at a cost of $2500 and the Bilibed for $3200.

"For many years, Buena Vista Regional Medical Center has been conducting newborn hearing tests, but with a recent State law that requires this test, newborns will benefit from the AuDX," reports LuAnn Hott. "The Bilibed is proven to reduce the length of stay for the babies, and can be taken into the room so the newborn can be with the mother. We are very grateful to all that have supported the Children's Miracle Network, which then helps BVRMC serve the needs of babies."
