Winterfest in Albert City
Saturday, Dec. 13 is Winterfest in Albert City. The Albert City Public Library will be having a book fair featuring Usborne Books with company representative Debbie LeCroix from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. With every purchase the library will earn free books. St. John Lutheran Church hosts special Christmas Worship service
St. John Lutheran Church, 402 Lake Ave., invites the community to a special worship service on Dec. 14 at 9 a.m. that will present the meaning of Christmas to all in word and song.
As part of the worship service, St. John Choir will present the cantata, "The Voices of Christmas" by Joseph Martin. Using original music as well as traditional carols, the author relates the familiar Christmas characters to people today.
Solo voices featured include Jan Magnussen, Annie Brophy, Diane Overmohle, David Stille and the Rev. Bruce Lesemann. Several congregational members will speak as the Biblical characters and provide the narration.
In this busy Christmas season, this is an opportunity to reflect on the true meaning of this joyous time.
Holiday Tour of Homes at Albert City
The Albert City Library Friends are sponsoring a "Holiday Tour of Homes" on Sunday, Dec. 14, from 2 - 4:30 p.m. with a gathering in the library afterwards for refreshments and door prize drawing.
Homes on the tour include: Kevin and Shelly Buse, Lynn and Mavis Foster, Norman and Lynette Hanson, Paul and Tausha Lindner, Doug and Ebba Youngberg and Countryside Living Guest Apartments.
Cost for this fundraiser event is $5 per person and tickets may be purchased in advance at the Library, Straw Horse, and Pocket of Posies or at the Library the day of the event.
Bethel Paptist Church in Newell presents Christmas concert
The Bethel Baptist Choir of Newell will present, "We Come with Joy!" a contemporary musical celebration of Christmas on Sunday, Dec. 14 at 5 p.m. The church is located on Highway 7 in Newell.
A free soup supper will be held immediately following the performance.
All are welcome to attend.
