Buena Vista outscored Presentation College 51-28 in the second half to close out the 2008 Buena Vista Classic with a commanding 92-60 victory over the Saints.
Junior Margo Muhlbauer (Manilla, Iowa/IKM) shot 9-of-13 from the field to finish with a game-high 19 points en route to earning Tournament MVP honors. She also hauled in a team-best five rebounds.
Senior Katie Ebel (Cherokee, Iowa/Cherokee Washington), who also earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team, followed with 11 points, four rebounds and five assists.
Katie Ernst (Sibley, Iowa/Sibley-Ocheyedan) and Melissa Sporrer (Dedham, Iowa/Caroll-Kuemper) each came off the bench to finish with nine points apiece.
Presentation jumped out to an early 12-6 lead and led for the majority of the first half.
The Beavers, which trailed 27-22 with 6:25 to play in the half, then went on a 19-5 run to take a 41-32 lead into halftime.
Buena Vista, which shot 2-of-8 from long range in the first half, connected on 7-of-13 in the second, including three during a 23-13 run to start the half en route to a 64-45 lead midway through.
Presentation got no closer than 17 from there, as Buena Vista finished the game with its biggest lead of the contest.
Defensively, the Buena Vista girls forced 29 turnovers, while also out-rebounding the Saints by three.
Becky Smith turned in 15 points to lead Presentation, which dropped to 1-3 on the year.
Buena Vista improves to 4-2 overall and will return to action on Tuesday night when the team opens Iowa Conference play with a road contest at Simpson College. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
