Tuesday, November 25, 2008

The Storm Lake Police Association announces that "Local cops are taking their gloves off for those in need."

The Storm Lake Police Association announces the third Annual "Gloves of Love" program. The Association has placed a Christmas tree in the lobby of the Police Station and is inviting the public to join Storm Lake Officers and staff members in hanging donated children's gloves on the tree. On Dec. 18 the Police Association will provide the gloves to the local Upper Des Moines Office to be distributed to children throughout the community.

Citizens are invited to drop off children's gloves at the Police Station. The Police Station lobby is open from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m., Monday through Friday as well as Saturday and Sunday 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.

In addition, the Police Association will have boxes under the tree for donated can goods. These items will also be delivered to the Upper Des Moines Office on Dec. 18.
