Crooners set Christmas show in a barn
The Community Crooners will present their annual Christmas concerts on December 13 and 14. Entitled "Unspeakable Joy," the musical is a dynamic blend of choruses, dramatic songs, tender ballads, and beautiful narration recounting the stable and the star, the angels and the shepherds, and the baby on a bed of straw.
On Saturday, December 13, the group will perform in Russ and Liz Davis's barn near Nemaha. It will be the perfect setting for selections from the musical including, "Come and See What's Happening in the Barn" and "Mary Was the First One to Carry the Gospel." Guests are asked to gather at the Nemaha United Methodist Church by 5:15 p.m. then follow the lighted star (in a vehicle) to the Davis farm. Dress warmly and bring blankets. Following the performance in the barn, the Crooners invite their guests back to the Nemaha UMC for a soup supper and Christmas treats.
Sunday, December 14 the Crooners will present the same program at 4 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in Early. This performance will be followed by fellowship in the church basement. Admission is free to all events. A free will offering will be taken. The Crooners are a choir made up of two dozen voices from Early and Nemaha., directed by Karen Blass.
