It's basket time!

The Storm Lake Library is filled with holiday literary baskets awaiting silent auction bids from the community.

Bids on the baskets may be made from now through Wednesday, Dec. 3. The highest bidder will have the opportunity to take home the basket. There are baskets for children and adults, for the sports enthusiasts and the gardener, for the pet lover and the crafter.

The baskets are filled with books and goodies galore; please check them out.

This year's themes are: 100 Days of Monsters; 101 Baseball Places to See; Alfred Hitchcock; Animal, Vegetable, Miracle; His and Hers; C is for Cookie; Christmas Alphabet; Curious George; Devil Wears Prada; Dewey the Library Cat; Elf on the shelf; Fairy Chronicles; Farmer Will; Fishing; Five Little Monkeys; Gossip Girls; Green Eggs and Ham; Guess How Much I Love You; H is for Hawkeye; I Am the Messenger; Intellectual Devotional; James and the Giant Peach; Jewelry Making; Jimmy Buffet; John Adams; Knitting; Knuffle Bunny; Kung Fu Panda; Last Lecture; Magic Tree House; Midwest Modern; Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day; Paris, France and Julia Child; Peanuts/Charles Schultz; Pigeon Series; Pinkalicious; Prairie Girl's Guide to Modern Wisdom; Semi-Homemade Cooking; Skateboarding; Skippyjon Jones; Sponge Bob Square Pants; The Road; Three Cups of Tee; Walter the Farting Dog.

The literary basket silent auction will be wrapped up Dec. 3 at the Friends of the Library open house and Chamber Business After-Hours, 5-7 p.m.

All proceeds from the silent auction go towards supporting the programs, collections and services provided by the Storm Laker Library.
