Public invited to St. Mary's Pro-life event

Tuesday, November 11, 2008

Storm Lake St. Mary's School 7-12 students have organized a Pro-Life Club and are inviting the public to help them kick off their first event. The students will be attending the Saturday, Nov. 15 5:30 p.m. mass at St. Mary's Church, then will be hosting a maid-rite supper immediately afterwards in the Parish Center. Families are invited to bring table service and a salad or dessert and join the students for the meal and fellowship. The St. Mary's Guild and Knights of Columbus are providing the maid-rites.

Following the meal, the students will participate in a mini lock-in with Olympic games, team discussions, Eucharistic exposition, sugar cookie decorating for the homebound and other activities before ending the evening with Eucharistic Benediction around midnight.

Organizers include St. Mary's School faculty members Brian Feller, Sr. Donna Determan, and Fr. Jeremy Wind. They said the theme of the evening is to give thanks to God for life. They hope that the group will gain awareness within the parish, begin formation on life issues, pray in thanksgiving for life and have tons and tons of fun.

For more information on the event or meal and for 7-12 grade students to sign-up for the event, please contact Brian Feller at St. Mary's School at 732-1856.
