Area mothers with children from conception through kindergarten are invited to participate in MOPS at Summit!
Mothers of Preschoolers is part of MOPS International (www.mops.org), a unique organization which encourages and supports mothers with different lifestyles who share a similar desire to be the very best moms they can be. MOPS recognizes that the foundational years from infancy through kindergarten present special needs and opportunities.
The area group meets at 9:15 to 11:30 AM on the first and third Wednesdays each month from September through May. Participants enjoy a warm atmosphere that celebrates motherhood and meets needs by making connections through caring relationships, creative activities, and great food.
This year's theme, "Adventures in Mothering" will equip moms to learn more about themselves as they go through the adventure of motherhood. They will celebrate and embrace the fun in the experiences, even in the midst of daily life that can stretch moms emotionally and spiritually. Each meeting also features area speakers who present practical tools to help equip participants to be the best mothers they can be.
Infants and preschoolers are welcome to attend as well. A group of mothers care for them in a parallel program called MOPPETS. During MOPPETS the children play creative games, listen to stories, enjoy snacks and much more.
The first MOPS meeting is free, and a nominal charge of $3 per meeting covers all other expenses. For more information about MOPS at Summit Church (www.summitefc.com), call MOPS Coordinator Jill R. Engelmann at 712-732-7444 or the Summit Church office at 712-200-2200.
