The Tornadoes' swim team wrapped up their regular season Tuesday as they took part in dual action against the host Tigers and Sioux City Metro.
Storm Lake fell in both matchups, 80-14 against the Tigers and 77-17 against Metro, but there was a definite silver lining in the form of senior Erin Tucker.
Tucker 2:11.38 in the 200 free shaved over a second and a half off of Amy Gutel's previous school record. Gutel's mark of 2:12.99 had stood as Storm Lake's best in the even since 1994.
Tucker was also part of the 400 free relay team that earned second place honors with Lindsay Hall, Sophia Haselhof, and Jenna Harms. Their time was 4:34.34.
Mary Mooney earned the only other second place mark for the Tornadoes with her 1:24.06 in the 100 meter breast stroke.
The SL swimmers now prepare themselves for the upcoming regional meet on November 1st in Fort Dodge.
