Iowa KidsNet to hold orientation in Cherokee

Tuesday, September 30, 2008

Cherokee - Iowa KidsNet, the statewide organization that recruits, trains, licenses and supports Iowa's foster and adoptive families, will hold an orientation in Cherokee on Tuesday, Oct. 7, for individuals interested in becoming foster or adoptive parents.

Orientations are informational sessions that give attendees a basic overview of the process involved in foster care and adoption and an understanding of the characteristics of children in the child welfare system. There is no obligation to continue in the process by attending an orientation.

With over 4,000 Iowa children needing a foster home on any given day, there is a large need for foster and adoptive parents. To register for an upcoming orientation session or to learn more, call Iowa KidsNet at 1.800.243.0756 or visit www.iowakidsnet.com.
