Buena Vista University in Storm Lake is adding a new Bachelor of Applied Studies degree, and will work closely with Western Iowa Tech Community College in Sioux City to offer the degree to students.
An agreement was signed late this month between the two colleges that will help Western Iowa Tech students with associate degrees get bachelor degrees at Buena Vista.
Fred Moore, Buena Vista University President says, "We expect many more of those students to matriculate at BV but rather than having it be about the institution it's really about the students."
Dr. Robert Dunker, Western Iowa Tech Community College President says, "With their associate degree they can go out and get a job in the workforce but their baccalaureate degree will provide them the chance to move up in that career."
The new degree is being offered through BVU's Storm Lake campus and their professional and online studies program which has locations across Iowa.
