Professional Hearing Solutions to move Oct. 1

Thursday, September 25, 2008

Professional Hearing Solutions which is currently located on Michigan Ave will be moving to their new location on 602 Flindt Drive on October 1. An open house will be held on October 29 and 30. Look for a grand opening in the future, Hearing Instrument Specialist Russell Sweet says.

Sweet said they have to move out because the building was sold, however, he's said they're glad to be moving into the new location because the new facility is bigger allowing them more room.

Sweet said the most rewarding part of his job is helping people hear better. "To have someone walk out that door and hear something they hadn't heard in 40 years - that's incredible," says Melinda Mills, Professional Care Coordinator. Mills and Sweet said they remember one individual who walked outside and stood on the step for a whlie. They asked him if something was wrong. No, he replied, just listening to the birds.

"There's nothing more exciting and fulfilling for me to know that when a client walks out my door, they are going to hear better than they have in years," he says. Sweet says the business also strives to have a courteous and caring environment. "We want it homey. We want it to be comfortable for them (clients)," adds Mills. He says often times clients don't want to try hearing aids because they've heard they don't work or are embarrassed to wear them. He says, however, many models nowadays are so small they can't even be seen by others.

Professional Hearing Solutions sells a full line of Audibel Hearing Aids that vary in size from small ones that fit completely in the ear canal to the newest over the ear model and they carry a full line of batteries and repair all makes and models. Sweet also has branch offices in Fort Dodge and Spirit Lake.

The new office hours are Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to noon.
