Buena Vista baseball to hold fall camps
Buena Vista head baseball coach Steve Eddie and his staff have announced they will be holding multiple fall camps here in 2008.
An offensive camp will be held on both Sunday, September 14 and Sunday, September 21. Those interested are asked to sign up for one of the two dates. Cost of the camp is $25 per camp and will be limited to the first 25 players who register. The camp will run from 1:00 p.m - 4:00 p.m., and will take place at the BVU/Storm Lake Baseball Complex, which was newly renovated with synthetic field turf this last spring. The complex is located at the Storm Lake High School campus.
Campers will be assisted on improving hitting fundamentals which will include numerous rounds of batting practice on the game field, as well as doing drills in the cage and practice areas.
On Saturday, September 20, the staff will be holding a pitching clinic from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., and it will also take place at the BVU/Storm Lake Baseball Complex. It will be limited to the first 20 players to register and will be $25 per camper.
The goal of this camp is to help each camper to gain a better understanding of the important facets of pitching. The staff will teach and talk about throwing drills and mechanics with an emphasis on improving the pitcher in three main areas: control, velocity, and movement. It will also discuss arm care including pre- and post- pitching routines, as well as how to train a pitcher in off-season and in-season workouts.
An email for those signing up for any of the three camps will be sent to verify that the camper is registered for the selected camp.
Please visit the Camps & Clinics link on the BVU Athletics website to find and download the registration form. Forms need to then be sent back as soon as possible. Any questions can be directed to Coach Eddie at 712-749-2298.
