Plains Area Mental Health center welcomes new staff in Storm Lake

"With the opening of our new offices and services to the residents of Buena Vista County comes the addition of staff to serve at our new facility located at 200 West Railroad Ave. in Storm Lake. It is with great excitement that we announce the addition of our new and current staff", said Patrick Schmitz, Executive Director of Plains Area Mental Health.

Dr. Michael Moeller, MD will provide child, adolescent, adult and senior psychiatric coverage for Buena Vista County residents beginning Sept. 9. Dr. Moeller also serves the Plymouth and Sioux County offices working with youth and also the Senior Care Program. He is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Janne Johnson, ARNP, provides psychiatric medication management and evaluation services and began July 15, 2008. Janne comes to Storm Lake with experience working at Cherokee Mental Health Institute, Cherokee Community Schools as Health Services Director and Briar Cliff University where she was an Associate Professor. She has worked with a diverse array of people in educational and healthcare settings. Janne believes that all people respond positively to clear communication that conveys compassion.

Leslie Mohr, M.Ed.(formerly Redenbaugh) will provide full-time psychotherapy services. Leslie has experience in individual, family and group therapy. She has worked extensively with school systems through the Bridges Project. She received her Masters from Loyola University in Chicago.

Keith Sutherland, LISW will continue to serve clients one day a week in the new offices. Keith has a long history of counseling and mental health services in Northwest Iowa, Colorado and Massachusetts. He provides individual, family and marital therapy. He has worked successfully with diverse populations.

Deb Bush, LISW, will also continue to serve clients on a prearranged appointment basis. She has vast experience working with children and families. Deb also works in the Ida Grove and Cherokee offices of Plains Area.

Renee Ehrig-Phillips serves as full time receptionist. She comes to us from Ida Grove where she worked with Dr. Bleil, DC for the past 13 years.

Plains' professional staff will provide confidential counseling services for depression, abuse, family/marital relationships, stress, anxiety, grief/loss, social/peer/work relationships, psychiatric evaluation and med management, ADHD, and much more. Emergency services for those experiencing emotional crisis are available 24/7 by phone, walk-in treatment or the evening and weekend on-call system at 1-888-546-0730.
