Tiefenthaler Quality Meats of Holstein won national recognition at the American Cured Meat Championships (ACMC) held July 24 - 26, 2008 in Cincinnati, OH, in conjunction with the 69th Convention of the American Association of Meat Processors (AAMP). The ACMC annually draws hundreds of entries from the entire United States. This year there were 604 entries in 25 product categories.
Tiefenthaler Quality Meats was awarded 2nd place, Reserve Grand Champion in the Semi-Boneless Ham Class; 2nd place, Reserve Grand Champion, in the restructured Jerky class; 4th place, sausage class; and 1st place, Grand Champion, in the Smoked Turkey class. All entries were judged on the basis of aroma, flavor, eye appeal, color and texture.
