A great turnout was met with even better weather for Sunday's half-marathons and 5k

The Storm Lake Jump Right in and Run 5K, half-marathon, and half-marathon relay saw an excellent turnout as area runners paced themselves around the lake Sunday morning.

The mixed half-marathon saw 57 runners competing and was won by

Ames native Chang Woo with a time just under one hour and fourteen minutes. Jeff Brennan of Denver, Colorado took second place as he finished the thirteen miles in just under one hour and 22 minutes. Ryan Gratz, an Iowa City resident, took third at one hour and twenty seven minutes.

The half-marathon relay had ten teams enter and was won by the team of Dave Bohlken and Jesse Sewell from Lincoln, Nebraska. The pair ran the distance in one hour and eighteen minutes. Frederico Mendoza and David Brady took second with a time of one hour and thirty-four minutes. Finishing third was Laurie Grieme and Nate Sanders at one hour and forty minutes.

The 5K event had an impressive total of 106 runners competing.

Taking top honors was Storm Lake's Paul Yak at 17 minutes and 36 seconds.

David Jones of Laurens placed second with a time of 18 minutes and 50 seconds.

Kevin Vanderlinder was a close third at 18 minutes and 53 seconds.
