Good Samaritan Society-Newell employee receives honor

Good Samaritan Society-Newell honored Michelle Wilson on July 28, 2008, for being named a John R Grubb Health Care Scholarship recipient by the Iowa Health Care Association Foundation.

Wislon is currently working as a CNA at the Good Samaritan Society-Newell. She has been serving in the long term care profession for five years, and is studying nursing at Iowa Central Community College.

"Michelle was nominated by her peers and elected as our 2008 CNA of the Year," said Administrator Jennifer Myers. "She exemplifies many characteristics that are desirable in a CNA as well as an LPN."

"Michelle also serves on several committees here at the facility," said Mary Baskerville, staff development. "they simply take time to do those special little things for the residents, staff, and community."

Wilson received a $1,000 scholarship award and a certificate presented by Lisa Uhlenkamp, Iowa Health Care Association Director of Quality and Clinical Services.
