State Farm Insurance today thanked the community of Storm Lake, for the gracious hospitality extended to top-producing agents and their families during a recent gathering there.
"State Farm was very pleased with the successful Tri-States Brand Builders event in Storm Lake," said Terry Barton, Vice President-Agency for State Farm in Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota. "Storm Lake residents made our group very welcome in their town and we appreciate everything that was done to make our event one to remember."
More than 220 State Farm agents and their families from Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota were in Storm Lake July 23-25. In total, almost 700 people attended the event. While in Storm Lake, agents and their families attended business meetings and took part in the many recreational opportunities the community offers, including golfing, boating, biking, shopping and the new King's Pointe Water Park.
Qualifying agents and their families stayed at a number of locations, with most business meetings held at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake. Buena Vista also hosted State Farm's kick-off and closing activities.
"Brand Builders was the largest event King's Pointe Resort had held to that date, and yet it all went very smoothly," Barton said. "We had a wonderful family oriented retreat and learning opportunity. We also had a great time discovering the many amenities Storm Lake has to offer."
Barton also recognized local 4-H clubs for providing day care during closing night activities; local residents who offered boating tours for Brand Builders guests; the local Chamber of Commerce for its support and the many local merchants who extended their welcome as well.
"We want the community to know how much we enjoyed our visit," he said. "Storm Lake is a real gem and I want to thank everyone there for treating us like special guests."
