Jeanie Iordanou of Storm Lake says she was looking for a good investment when she asked to purchase Martini's Bar and Grille from former owner Bill Hyde. "It already had a great staff and the menu was fabulous," she says. "I had several years of restaurant experience."
Iordanou closed the restaurant for about five days for a redesign by Elements by K Sorbe and added some new wall hangings.
Some cleaning was done to help freshen the place up especially with the new smoking ban in place.
Martini's was originally named G. Witters. However, three years ago, Hyde remodeled it, changing the menu and the name.
Iordanou says she plans to keep the menu the same, however, in the fall plans to add some speciality items to the menu and Martini menu, which currently offers over 50 martinis and speciality drinks. Iordanou says she plans to keep the "old favorites," as well.
Iordanou says they currently have some great lunch specials and children can eat free every evening. She says she plans to continue maintaining the relaxing atmosphere at the restaurant.
"People just like the atmosphere - it's just a great place to meet friends after work," she says. However, it's also a place to bring the whole family for a meal, she says.
Martini's is open Mon-Thurs. from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Fri. and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. The kitchen closes at 10:30 p.m. however.
