When businessowner Adam Tiefenthaler opened the third floor of a downtown building he owns about a year ago, he had only intended to open it for banquets and parties. He says they also put in a bar to provide drinks for the events.
Just recently he's gone a step further and opened the bar to the public - the Lake Avenue Lounge which is located upstairs of the Floors Etc. business.
"The feedback was so great we decided to open up the bar full time," he says.
The bar in the new lounge was formerly owned by Studebaker's in Aurelia, however, after a fire devastated the business, the restaurant didn't reopen. The furniture was auctioned off, including the bar.
Last Friday the new lounge featured live music, Tiefenthaler says he hopes to continue providing live entertainment. "We're looking for more talent, live music events to come out and play," he says.
Tiefenthaler says he hopes his customers will have a relaxing time when they visit his new lounge. "I want them to be able to come in and order a drink and unwind," he says. "And enjoy a view of downtown from the third floor."
An elevator is available for to those who need it he says. Currently the lounge is open everyday at 4 p.m. and closes on Friday and Saturday at 2 a.m.
Tiefenthaler says currently the second floor of the building only has one office located on it. "We have lots of office space available for rent."
Catering is provided through Boz Wellz' restaurant. The hall can be booked for events through Boz Wellz as well.
