The Rebuild Iowa Office is up and running, with local state senator Steve Kettering among the task force members assessing how to best handle flood and tornado recovery. In an effort to maximize potential, the commission has identified areas in need of more examination. Each area will have a corresponding task force comprised of legislators.
The Commission has 45 days to assess and provide solutions to rebuild the state.
Kettering, of Lake View, is serving on the Long-Term Recovery Task Force and is anticipating being able to provide swift results for Iowans. "Thousands of Iowans were affected by this year's natural disasters. In the short term private and public resources alike are spurring the immediate recovery work. This task force's charge is to provide long term direction for Iowa's recovery plan. I look forward to contributing to that effort."
