Maurine Hutton

June 4, 1924 - June 12, 2008

Maurine Hutton, 84, died June 12, 2008, of COPD at Evangelical Free church Home in Boone.

A celebration of life was held June 18 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ames. Her cremains will rest in Mesa, Ariz. Stevens Memorial Chapel, Ames, assisted the family.

Maurine Huseman was born June 4, 1924, to Louis and Ella (Oatman) Huseman. She graduated from Hanover Parochial School and Alta High School. She graduated from secretarial school in Omaha, working for room and board. She worked for American Cancer in Waukegan until her marriage to Ross Hutton at Lake Forrest, Ill. Oct. 30, 1942.

She lived at Mt. Vernon for several years then moved to Alta where Ross was attorney and she was a homemaker.

Maurine was a dealer for Lustrom Homes. the family lived in Lustrom until the children were grown. Then she built a house on the golf course. The third house she built was in Mesa, Ariz.

Maurine was a duplicate bridge life master, LWML member, member of golf and bowling leagues, P.T.A. member, band mother and active with her family, church and community.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister and brothers.

She is survived by her daughters - Jan Hutton, Houston, Texas and Marcia (Robert) Gregorac, Ames; grandchildren - Jay (Maria), Houston, Texas; Paul, Houston, Texas; and Jennifer (Dell), New York City, N.Y.; and great-grandchildren - Rayan and Elias.
