Classic stars come to life in 'Date Night at the Soda Shoppe'

The Storm Lake United Methodist Church Wild Women Bible Study Group with be presenting a dinner theater, "Date Night at the Soda Shoppe" on Friday, July 11, at the Family Life Center.

Visitors will be able to reminisce about the '50s, '60s and '70s with many of their favorites, such as Marilyn Monroe, Dick Clark, The Supremes, Captain and Tenille, the Beatles, Aretha Franklin and Paul Anka, plus many more.

Sorry, but Elvis Presley sends his regrets because he is on tour that night. Lawrence Welk has even released Joanne Castle to play some honky-tonk music. The night will be jumpin' and jivin' with star impersonators.

The evening will start at 6:30 p.m. in a soda shoppe setting, while munching on popcorn and soda pop. At 7 p.m., fill your tummies with classic favorites such as Sloppy Joes, coney dogs, coleslaw, beans and the ever-popular brownie-fudge sundae.

Only 100 tickets will be sold, so stop in soon at the UMC office at 211 East Third Street to purchase tickets, Price is $17.50 each, or $15 each when purchasing two or more. Tables will seat eight people, there is no reserved seating.

This is your chance to walk down memory lane, but act fast, because tickets are selling in a hurry.
