Brad Smith, funeral director at the Sliefert Funeral Homes in Storm Lake, Sioux Rapids, Albert City and Marathon, attended the 128th Annual Iowa Funeral Directors Association (IFDA) Convention, held at the Iowa State Center and the Gateway Hotel in Ames, Iowa.
Brad is currently the representative for the Iowa Funeral Directors Association on the National Funeral Director's Association Policy Board, President of Funeral Services of Iowa, member of the IFDA Legislative Committee, and on the Executive Board of the IFDA Board of Governors.
In addition to attending the convention functions and exhibits, he also received 13 hours of valuable continuing education to further his knowledge and service to his funeral profession.
This year's Annual IFDA Convention featured highly regarded local and national funeral service speakers, who presented on topical issues related to business and management practices, regulatory updates, technical skills and training, and other funeral service profession issues. Attendance at the Annual IFDA Convention provides funeral directors with a forum to receive
and exchange information. IFDA members return home with new ideas that will allow them to better serve the families in their communities.
