Donna and Paul Koth, owners of West Links Golf Course in Alta will be hosting their first wedding reception, Saturday in their newly expanded clubhouse. "We're taking bookings now," said Donna. Recently the couple completed an expansion project to their facility, adding about 3,500 square feet to accomodate more events like wedding receptions, graduation open houses and golf tournaments, a project that began last fall.
"I had several calls for the past two years asking if it was big enough (for an event)," said Donna. She said the clubhouse didn't have enough room for golf tournaments either with many guests having to eat outside. "With the people calling like they have, they'll love it. I'm just hoping we get more so it'll get used." Already the newly expanded clubhouse has hosted three graduation parties which saw almost 750 people total. The newly expanded clubhouse will be able to handle 300 people at a time now. "As we go along and we get a few events down, we'll know more capacity wise," said Donna. The project which began included the construction of two new rooms, the new west wing room has a dance floor. With the construction project Koth added on an additional kitchen, handicapped accessible restrooms and another outside patio. They've also added new chairs and tables to the clubhouse. The couple designed and constructed the expansion project themselves. "That helped a lot when you can get your husband to the building, it helps cut costs," she said. Donna said they also plan to add an additional patio and still have a little more work on the restrooms and may add some doors in the future to close off the rooms for meetings. "We're just going to try it and see how it goes," said Donna. For more information on booking call 200-2137.
