Are there any young fish pros out there? If that's you, and you are between the ages of 6-15 years old, then pre-register now for the annual Buena Vista County Conservation Board fishing contest to be held Saturday, June 7 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Gustafson Lake south of Sioux Rapids, Iowa. This fishing contest is in conjunction with the aquatic educational program, FISH IOWA, offered free of charge.

There will be two age categories: 6-10 year olds and 11-15 year olds. First and second place prizes will be awarded on both age divisions for the heaviest single fish and for the heaviest stringer of three fish caught that day. This contest is sponsored by the Buena Vista County Conservation Board. This event is limited to 50 participants and is free of charge. If interested, please call the Buena Vista County Naturalist 712-749-2563 to pre-register by Thursday, June 6. Participants 6-10 years old must be accompanied by an adult throughout the contest.
