BVU's assistant professor of music earns doctorate

Paula Keeler, assistant professor of music at Buena Vista University (BVU), has received her doctorate of education in curriculum and supervision from the University of South Dakota. She received her degree on May 10 at Vermillion. The title of her dissertation was Preparing Music Teachers for Iowa K-12 Schools: An Analysis of the Music Education Curricula at Iowa Colleges and Universities.

Paula has been a member of the BVU faculty since 1999 after a 26-year career as a high school music teacher and choral director in the Sioux City schools. She earned her bachelor's degree in music education at Wichita State University and her master's in music education at the University of Kansas.
