The annual Alta VFW Memorial Day services will be held Monday at the community center beginning at 10 a.m.. The color guard and firing squad will be led by Commander Dan Young.
Invocation will be given by Pastor Terry Pollard, United Methodist Church. Commander Young will give the introduction. The VFW and Ladies Auxiliary will give a tribute to the war dead and place the wreath. Clinton Hofferman will place the flag.
The address will be given by Commander Sargeant Major Louis Wolfgram. Ruth Hofferman will conduct the roll call of the departed comrades, recently departed comrades and the recently departed sisters. Three patriotic musical selections will be played by the Alta High School band under the direction of Tom Musel.
The benediction will be given by Pastor Pollard.
The services will then proceed outside where the color guard will give a 21-gun salute and Taps will be played on the ceremonial bugle.
Everyone is invited to attend the services and honor the men and women who have and continue to serve for our freedoms.
