Director of sales, Katie Schwint, from King's Pointe Waterpark resort recently attended Iowa Tourism Unity Day, an annual event that celebrates the impact of travel in Iowa.
More than 200 members of Iowa's tourism industry participated. "Unity Day presents a wonderful opportunity for our industry members to get together, network with others and re-energized for Iowa Tourism Month in May and the summer travel season," said Nancy Landess, Iowa Tourism Officer Manager.
Iowa's $5.8 million travel and tourism has an economic impact on every county in the state. Iowa Tourism Unity Day was sponsored by the Travel Meredith Group and Midwest Living Magazine. The Iowa Tourism Office and the Travel Federation of Iowa hosted the event, which was held in West Des Moines.
Tourism is a $5.8 billion industry in Iowa, employing more than 63,400 people statewide and generating more than $290 million in state taxes.
