The Fiesta Latina event is rescheduled for Sunday in Storm Lake, after being canceled earlier.
Hosted by Buena Vista University and RAICES student multicultural group, the Cinco de Mayo season celebration is being moved off campus for the first time in hopes of involving the community.
The event has also been moved from the original site in Chautatuqua Park to Frank Starr Park on the west edge of the city, which will allow it to be held without the need to close a roadway.
Activities will be held 2-8 p.m., with a llive band, mariachi music and DJ music, dancing, food, raffles, kids' events, and contests including breakdancing and jalapeno eating.
This will be a non-alcoholic event, and everyone is welcome.
