Breaking ground for Fonda emergency center

Thursday, May 1, 2008

The Fonda Fire and Ambulance Services held a groundbreaking ceremony Sunday for the new fire and emergency medical services building being constructed in the community. When completed this fall, the new 6,720 square-foot building will have six bays. Chris Mercer and Arnold Thomas from USDA Rural Development were present to participate in groundbreaking ceremonies and present two grants totaling $199,500 to help with construction costs for the new facility. The firemen and the ambulance crew dig their way into the ground that will hold the new building.
