Storm Lake Clean-Up effort moves on to west side

Thursday, May 1, 2008

City of Storm Lake staff have now completed the clean up efforts on the east side of town.

Items left on the curb during the clean up process were left because they were not eligible clean up items. Some of these items included tires, construction materials, and paint.

Residents who have items left on the curb are responsible for deposing of the items in a correct manner. Tires may still be dropped off at the Harold Rowley Recycle Center thru May 2, 2008 free of charge with proof of residency in the City of Storm Lake.

City crews began the work of removing items placed on the curbs west of Lake Avenue Tuesday morning and will continue through the end of the week. Crews will not revisit an area once they have been by.

Items should be separated into piles for metal items and a separate pile for wood and other items. Construction materials, paint, chemicals and auto parts cannot be accepted.
