Habitat for Humanity's Buena Vista County Chapter will host a groundbreaking ceremony on May 3rd at 11 a.m. at the building site - 1717 Rose Lane.
Habitat's ninth home will be built in partnership with Claudia Rammer and her family. Claudia and her children, Lydia, Rodrigo, Claudia, and Rigoberto, are looking forward to their new life in their own home.
Habitat for Humanity builds homes in partnership with sponsors, volunteers and partner families - building homes with families, not for them. Just like any other homebuyer, Habitat families assume the mortgage when complete, but volunteer labor and donated materials allow for much lower costs.
Buena Vista County Habitat for Humanity relies solely on volunteer labor and tax-deductible contributions of cash, materials, professional services and property to build simple, decent homes with low-income families.
There will be plenty of opportunities for interested volunteers to get involves as building begins this season.
Everyone is welcome to join Claudia and her family, Habitat volunteers and board members, neighbors and friends to celebrate the groundbreaking of the ninth home Saturday, May 3rd, at 11:00 a.m.
