The Alta boys raced past the competition at the Alta Invite on Tuesday, claiming first place in Class A over Schaller-Crestland by a margin of 74 points and breaking three meet records in the process.
Mike Huseman led the charge with his record-breaking 22.97-second win in the 200-meter dash and his win in the 100-meter dash (11.04 seconds). He was also part of the 4x100 and 4x200 teams that broke meet records with times of 44.00 seconds and 1:33.04, respectively. Brady Randall was also on fire as he was on the winning 4x200 team, claimed a gold for the Cyclones in a personal best 400-meter hurdle time (1:00.97), was on the second-place 4x400 team, and took third in the shot put with another personal best of 46' 11". Ben Stevens ruled the high jump at 5' 8", while Jack Mills claimed the sand with a jump of 18' 11.5". Scott Radke earned second in both the 400 hurdles (1:01.47) and the 100-meter hurdles (16.76) as Chris Schmitz claimed second in the 100- and third in the 200-meter dash. The 4x800-, shuttle hurdle, and 4x400-meter relay teams all went home with silver.
