SPIRIT LAKE - A Dickinson County judge is mulling the small claims court case of 21-year-old Teresa Jones, who claims that an employee at a local Burger King placed a worm in the fish sandiwich she ordered in October, 2007.
In three hours of testimony this week, representatives of the restauant said the worm was not placed deliberately, and probably was present in a bag of lettuce in the food prep area.
Jones seeks a $5,000 settlement. The drive-up window employee of the time was not present in court. The restaurant had a surveillance camera, but it apparently was out of order.
