The Storm Lake boys track team finished second in a competitive field at the Cherokee Coed Relays Tuesday night.
Unity Christian won with 117 team points, Storm Lake followed with 95, LeMars had 68, MOC-FV 66, Cherokee and Western Christian each with 60, Spencer with 53, and Sheldon with 39.
The Tornado shuttle hurdle team smashed the meet and school records as Jeff Keen, Chom Thammavongsa, Peter Winterton and Zach Miller ran 59.82.
Thammavongsa, Miller, Patrick Higgins and Matt Ung teamed up for first in the 4x100.
Jeff Kofmehl won the shot put with a 48' toss.
Seconds went to Matt Ung in the long jump with 20'5"; Nate Tucker with a high jump of 5'8"; Miller, Thammavongsa, Ung and Courtney Goodchild in the 4x200.
Finishing third were Matt Ung in the 100 dash, Peter Winterton in the 400 meters, David Brady in the 1600.
The JV 4x100 team turned in a 47.39, good for first, with Kyle Richter, Tony Pertzborn, Eric Smith and Mike Adams.
Storm Lake will be sending its 4x100 team to the Drake Relays Friday, and will see local action with the Storm Lake Invitational today and the Tornado Relays April 29.
