FFA students compete, do well in district competition; some advance to state

Six members of the Alta FFA chapter participated in FFA District competition at Inwood on March 8.

Bryghtyn Franker placed first out of 67 competitors in the FFA Greenhand quiz competition. Meagan Phipps also received a gold in the Greenhand quiz.

The Floriculture team of Alli Glienke, Chris Glienke and Renae Hinkeldey placed second overall and received a silver ranking. Individually, Renae Hinkeldey received a gold, Alli Glienke received a silver, Chris Glienke received a bronze . The team advanced to state.

Scotty Robbins received a bronze in the job interview competition, Brody Lichtenberg received a bronze for creed speaking.

This was a district level competition with all FFA chapters in Northwest Iowa competing. Students advancing to state competition will be participating in State FFA on April 14 and 15 in Ames.

The Alta FFA Chapter has 30 members. The Alta FFA has been in existence since 1953. The FFA mission is to encourage personal growth, premier leadership and personal success through agricultural education.
