Thursday, January 24, 2008

Brad Anderson put up a game-high 19 points but it wasn't enough as Newell-Fonda fell to Schaller-Crestland's boys 62-51 here Tuesday.

The Wildcats had three players score in double figures: Matt Struchen with 18, Kiley Murra with 16 and Collin Johnson with 14.

N-F (8-9, 6-7 NWC) won the rebounding war 31-28 and got 11 points from Nathan Schumann. Robert Devereaux added 10 rebounds and Nate Reichter four assists.

"Schaller-Crestland came out of the gate fast. They got the ball inside and to the free throw line more than we did tonight," Mustangs coach Paul Loos said.

Murra led S-C in rebounds with 11 and assists with five.

Johnson shot 3-for-3 from beyond the arc.
