The Newell-based classic rock band The Senders, known as Iowa's longest-playing band, will appear in a featured concert at the 28th Annual University of Okoboji Winter Games January 25 - 27. The Senders show is at Pearson Lakes Art Center in Okoboji Saturday, the 26th, starting at 7:30. The Senders started in 1962 as Johnny and The Sting Rays, and in 1967 they won Band of the Year honors at the famed Roof Garden. Lead singer/guitarist Don Schossow and bass player Dave Schossow are original members.
