The 23rd-annual Skywalk Open Golf Tournament is slated for Saturday, Feb. 9, in the skywalks of downtown Des Moines, and there are many ways to get involved. This wintertime celebration is a great way to get out of the house and spend time with family, friends and co-workers. Golfers can register online today by clicking on Sign Up at www.skywalkgolf.com.
All you need is a putter and organizers provide three zany miniature golf courses, a souvenir golf ball courtesy of Waste Management, Inc., and a long-sleeved t-shirt. We even have putters to borrow if you need one! Skywalk Golf consists of three 18-hole miniature golf courses, plus one bonus hole on each course, laid out in the downtown skywalk system. The day's events wrap up with entertainment, refreshments, and more fun and games at the 19th Hole at the food court at Kaleidoscope at the Hub.
Registration is available in three divisions: singles, doubles and foursomes, and costs $25 per golfer through Jan. 26, 2008, and $30 per golfer from Jan. 27-Feb. 8, 2008, so get signed up early. Tee times are available from 7:30 a.m. through 3:30 p.m. on Feb. 9. All registered golfers will check in before their designated tee time at Kaleidoscope at the Hub (5th St. and Walnut).
Skywalk Golf also offers a plethora of sponsorship opportunities. Tee Sponsors get the opportunity to interact with over 1,800 golfers and have fun doing it. Visit www.skywalkgolf.com for Tee Sponsor details.
Volunteer opportunities are available at www.skywalkgolf.com. Skywalk Golf is produced by Downtown Events Group and is open to all Iowans.
