Galva-Holstein used 20 points from Lindsey Joslin, 12 from Brandi Wagoner and 10 from Breanna Mathes Saturday in a 67-63 non-conference girls basketball win over Odebolt-Arthur.
The win came one night after the Pirates routed West Monona 52-27.
Pirates coach Ken Slater said tough defense, as well as offensive execution, spurred his team to a good start Saturday.
"Breanna Mathes had a career night, scoring 10 points, grabbing six rebounds and hitting two clutch free throws at the end of the game," Slater said. "Heather Joslin also did a great job on the boards, coming down with 14. Lindsey Joslin and Brandi Wagoner worked well together against the press and they both gave us an offensive boost.
"Brandi had some key assists in the game and made some big 3s. Alyssa Martin played a solid game as well, dishing some important assists. Victoria Andresen and Brooke Wiese gave us a good boost off the bench and both played well offensively and defensively."
